Copyright & DMCA Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
1. Our commitment
Arcwave respects the rights of authors, translators, and publishers. The novels in the catalog are the literary property of their respective rights holders, and we operate a prompt notice-and-takedown process consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and equivalent laws elsewhere. When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the identified material expeditiously and confirm the action to the notifier.
2. Designated agent
Send copyright notices to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent — Arcwave
Email: support@arcwave.app (subject line: "DMCA notice")
Postal address: available via the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory (dmca.copyright.gov)
Email is the fastest route and is monitored continuously. Notices sent to other addresses may be delayed.
3. Filing a copyright notice
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (for a web novel: the title and, if applicable, the chapters or range).
- Identification of the material to remove, with information reasonably sufficient to locate it — for Arcwave, the novel or chapter URLs (for example
arcwave.app/novels/<title>). - Your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
You don't need a lawyer to file, and we accept equivalent notices from rights holders outside the United States under their local law.
4. What happens when we receive a notice
- We review the notice for completeness and may ask you for missing elements.
- On a complete notice, we expeditiously remove or disable access to the identified novel or chapters — typically within 48 hours, often faster.
- We confirm the action to you by email.
- We keep records of notices and actions taken, as the law requires.
Where the identified material was submitted by a user (for example a request note), we also notify that user and apply our repeat-infringer policy below.
5. Counter-notices
If material you submitted was removed because of a notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the designated agent including: (1) identification of the removed material and where it appeared; (2) a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief the removal was a mistake; (3) your name, address, phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which Arcwave may be found) and to accept service from the notifier; and (4) your signature. Where the law requires, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original notifier informs us they have filed a court action.
6. Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers — including users who repeatedly submit infringing material through the request system.
7. Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages including costs and attorneys' fees. Please make sure your notice or counter-notice is accurate.
8. Licensing and partnerships
If you are an author or publisher of a work in (or requested for) the catalog, removal is not the only path: we are open to licensing arrangements and revenue conversations and reply quickly. Reach us at support@arcwave.app with "Licensing" in the subject. See also our Terms of Use for how the Service works.
